At Grimoldby Primary School we use a phonics programme called Letters and Sounds. This was published by the Department for Education and Skills in 2007.. It sets out a detailed and systematic programme for teaching phonic skills to children as they enter our school. We aim for them to become fluent readers by the age of seven.
Here is the official DFE publication for the Letters and Sounds scheme: https://www.education.gov.uk/publications/standard/publicationdetail/Page1/DFES-00281-2007
In Key Stage 1, we use a variety of reading schemes and resources – Oxford Reading Tree, Collins Big Cat and Heinemann.
