Our Curriculum Framework
At our school the whole school delivers the programmes of study for each year group through school wide themes.
These topics have been selected to make the most of what we have in our local environment and to appeal to the interests of our children, as well as meeting the statutory requirements of the National Curriculum. Whole school topics mean that we can plan together, children can share learning and experiences between age groups, and when the topic is revisited 4 years later, the child will be able to reflect on prior learning and build upon this.
Each class’s learning is planned to meet the needs of the pupils in the class and will focus upon different aspects within the topic so that there is no duplication when the topic is revisited four years later.
Below is a table showing the topics in our 4 year cycle.

Please note the children in our Nursery and Reception classes follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. They too work within our school framework where it is appropriate, but the nature of learning at this stage relies upon learning being led by the learners. The link below takes you to this document.
